So, you are thinking about starting a blog? I mean, why not? Everyone has a story to tell.
But before we start, I want to tell you a quick story before we dive in.
I’ve been burning through an endless amount of time trying to figure out the simplest way to make money online.
To tell you the truth, I found what I was looking for in blogging but only after I spent countless hours trying all kinds of “get-rich-quick schemes”
It felt like every guru and so-called “expert” on the internet took my money and sold me fluff. (Shocker)
It was no more than useless talk.
They kept blabbering on about how they were stuck in a rut, hated their bosses and not making enough money to support their families.
Then they discovered a magic formula that changed their lives in a blink of an eye.
It allowed them to quit their jobs, drive Lamborghini’s and rub shoulders with the rich and famous.
And so you can too!
For a small R9997.00 investment, you can get your hands on their “rags to riches” formula that will change your life.
Sounds familiar? I bet is does.
Nowadays, when I hear marketers go on like that I want to die a little inside.
I bet you have come across all kinds of things like that on the internet?
Stay away from them, it will waste your time and break your spirit.
This is why starting a blog is so special. The communities in the blogging industry are so supportive.
You will learn from them and find help where you need it.
There is a lot of information out there about blogging and how to start a blog, all I am saying is if you find a trustworthy source stick and learn from it.
Simple as that.
But before I share with you why you should look into blogging as a way to a better life, you should know one thing.
It is damn hard to be successful at blogging and It’s definitely not a quick get rich scheme or anything closely related.
Whilst blogging can be frustrating at times, the joy you will feel when everything comes together is out of this world.

3. Design your days.
This is actually a very important reason for me. I love doing what I want and the freedom to do anything whenever you want.
Let me give you an example.
We have a new baby girl that keep us busy around the clock.
As anyone with kids know. You have to plan everything around their schedule.
Life, your job and all the other responsibilities are difficult to juggle if you have a 9 – 5
Blogging free’s up to your life and let you do things that are best for you and your family.
In the world of blogging, there are no –
- Early mornings
- Traffic jams
- Commutes to work
- Crowded holiday destinations
- Annoying co-workers
- That boss of yours.
You will be the designer of your own life.
4. Learning a new set of skills.
With the experience you will gain from blogging, you learn how to build a website, promote it and make money from it.
You will have an advantage over someone with no knowledge of web design and related skills.
You can use these skills to create websites for individuals and businesses for a profit.
The rabbit hole is never ending once you start enter.
I am a prime example of it. I am running my blog plus I am selling my SEO and web design services to local companies and people where I live.
All because of an article like this and mostly what I learned over the past 10 years.
Trust me, it will be the best decision you will make this year to start a blog.
Think about it for a minute! No one can take your new learned skill away from you and do you know what is even better? You will not be tied to do business in South Africa only, you know have an international platform you can make money on anywhere in the world.
5. Helping Others
This is what blogging is all about, to help others and providing solutions to problems.
Take bloggers who share their journeys battling cancer.
The blogs about how to deal with a loss of a loved one or your typical mommy bloggers.
I take my hat off for those bloggers.
It is a great way to help others with the same problems. Your input and values are priceless and way more appreciated than you think.
If you have something to share with the world, even if it is a DIY project that will help single moms.
Start writing and express your true feelings. It will bring hope, relieve and understanding to others in need.
Some examples –
6. Become a better writer.
This is a great reason, many people believe you have to be a good writer to be able to start a blog and that is pure nonsense.
Look at me. I don’t have any special background in literature, and not even English.
I learn every day a bit more about myself and develop my skills as a writer and I still learn every day as I go along.
You will realize how writing will change your way of thinking and challenge you in a positive way.
I am still far from a being an excellent writer.
My point is, I never would have guessed I would be writing articles for extra cash?
Pretty amazing, right?
Writing will help you build up your business skills. This is very important when you want to be successful in an online business.
Imagine developing your writing skills where your readers would hang on every word you say.
The possibilities would be endless.
Some great tools you can use to help with your writing.
I love Grammarly and Google Docs. I personally use it every day.
Be sure to give them a try.
7. Communities and Support
The support from the blogging communities is amazing. The level of help these groups provide is truly priceless.
Joining these communities will help you and your blog to succeed.
From technical help to support when you feel like quitting your blog.

Whatever your reason might be. Start your blog for the right reasons otherwise your blog will not see the end of 2020.
A lot of people start blogging backwards and concentrate on the money making
It has a lot to do with the millions of “make $10 000 in your first-month blogging” claims on the internet.
Although it could happen, but not for the 99% of us out there.
